Basilique St. Sernin

Intro to Basilique St. Sernin Edit Section - Toulouse Monuments and Historical Sites : Basilique St. Sernin

Imposing, lovely, architecturally famous basilica in Toulouse's centreville, and the largest remaining Romanesque church in the world. It dates from around 1080 and is still picture-perfect, with detailed brickwork on the outside and impressive frescoes, chapels, and crypts on the inside. Once a week you can stroll around the grounds and check out an eclectic flea market, selling all sorts of interesting antiques.
