Intro to Manhattan Tailors
Manhattan Tailors is solid – good craftsmanship, good materials.
The only problem is they have too good a name, and thus charge rather
exorbitant prices. If you aren’t concerned about $50 here or $100
there, then you can trust the quality of Manhattan and avoid the
hassles of shopping. However, you’re paying a premium for that
ease.

After giving my Cab driver instructions on a recommended tailor in Bangkok he decided that he would drive me to Manhattan Suits instead. I tried to convince him that I wanted to go to this other place but he he told me that they were the best and that he recommends them over anyone else blah blah blah. Normal Thailand stuff. But, on this occasion I took his word for it and to this day I think that he believed what he was saying, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY GIVE HIM A KICKBACK OF 200 Baht everytime he takes someone new to the shop.
Anyway, I purchased 4 suits and about 6 shirts. The shirts have all been fine so far. The suits, on the other hand have started falling apart. The buttons have come off on all 3, the stictching has come off the bottom of the suit jacket and the fabric has pilled and fluffed up particularly on one suit. I paid approximately $1400.00 AUD and feel completely ripped off.
What they do is feed you full of beer and tell you that they have a 100% warranty on their product but it's all false. The beer's not false though...that works really well. Don't trust them and don't trust the cabbies.

I had been at Manhattan Taylors on 16th November 2007 after visiting four Taylors in Bangkok, overall experience was good. My partner and myself bought three suits between us and two shirts for myself. The fitting is perfect for both of us, the material quality seems ok but we have not dresses they yet.
It is supposed that with our deal we were going to received two ties for myself which we did not received when we picked up our clothes. I sent to them an e-mail asking for a delivery of the two ties today. Let we see which kind of honesty they have.

to make a long story short.
im from indonesia but i work in singapore. I was taken to manhattan tailor by my tuk tuk from the windsor tower hotel.
all i can say is it is a total scam. The quality of workmanship is very bad. the price is too high. I was conned into buying 3 suits and 3 shirts for 28,000 bht . The clothes were not ready on time and they said it was to be sent to hotel. i did not get the style i asked for . i asked for a single breast suit with one back vent but ended up with a single breast with 2 vents. The material was told to me to be wool but when i tool it to my regular tailor on orchard road to have it altered because of the bad workmanship he said it was cotton with no wool at all. I advise to those who are serious to buy suits go to recommended ones that your friends have tried because Thailand has too many tailors but few good ones.
