Intro to The National Museum
The National Museum offers a number of historic treasures and puts them in a chronological context. You are taken through the tribulations and triumphs of the Thai kingdom, first in story form and then through artifacts. 9:30 am every day a free English tour is offered. The grounds also contain a traditional Thai house and numerous halls filled with textile and functional art, as well as many ivory pieces.
As part of the National Museum’s ticket, you also gain access to Vimanmek Palace, a huge estate next to the zoo in the north of the city.
