Monuments and Historical Sites:

The Royal Palace

Intro to The Royal Palace Edit Section - Bangkok Monuments and Historical Sites : The Royal Palace

The most famous attraction – and with good reason – is the Royal
Palace.  This huge estate looks more like a temple than a
monarch’s home, and indeed, some parts are exactly that.  The
Emerald Buddha Temple is especially famous and lovely.  As a
bonus, unlike most tourist attractions, it continues to serve its
original purpose.  Pilgrims from all over the world come to
meditate at the foot of the Emerald Buddha (which is actually made of
jade).
