As part of the National Museum’s ticket, you also gain access to
Vimanmek Palace, a huge estate next to the zoo in the north of the
city.  This Palace also contains a number of artworks and textiles
– some quite rare and beautiful, such as statues made from the wings of
beetles.  In the center is the Palace itself, with multiple
English tours throughout the day.  You get a chance to see how the
royalty of Thailand lived up to a century ago, and see some of their
personal collections.
