Climbing:

Rocknasium

Intro to Rocknasium Edit Section - Davis Climbing : Rocknasium

One of the earliest climbing gyms in the country, they pride themselves on making the facility welcoming to 2 year olds starting to experiment with their coordination, birthday parties, and to hard core climbers training for real rocks or competitions.  The facility is fully climate controlled for the scorching 100-degree days of summer and also for the damp, chilly, fog laden weeks of winter.

A small business built by and run by owners, David "Squirrel" Schlosser and Mark Leffler for over 13 years, Rocknasium has the small "family" business feel to it.  The employees and members get together on a regular basis to Barbeque, share a beverage, or go climbing.  For many people the gym becomes their primary social outlet.

Of special intrest to avid climbers is the quality of the gyms course-setting, you won't find any jug ladders at "the Rock".

This place is a blast. Climbing is one of those physical activities that's always fun no matter what your skill level is (another popular one comes to mind, too). And the Rocknasium does it well. They've got all sorts of routes and you can get a pretty fast and cheap (but thorough) safety course if you're new to the sport. Definitely recommended.
