This old-school resort island is connected to the mainland by a bridge and as soon as you cross it is like coming to a different place altogether. The main street is lined with mom-and-pop shops and quaint little food establishments. The famous Hotel Del Coronado has been here more than a hundred years and many celebrities including Marilyn Monroe, Thomas Edison and Charles Lindbergh have frequented this place. The beaches are great and there are lots of surfers to look at or join if you possess the skills.
