This new and used bookstore in the Richmond district may not have the historic cache of the City Lights Bookstore, but these days it is consistently voted the best independent bookstore in the city. It's larger than City Lights and easier to browse, with a wide selection of books and a really helpful staff. They also have a music store next door.
