Intro to The California Palace of the Legion...
The California Palace of the Legion of Honor is a three-quarters scale recreation of the palace for the French Legion of Honor in Paris. While the building and grounds are spectacular, inside are original works by Degas, Rembrandt, Renoir, Monet and Picasso, as well as newer local masters like quirky cartoonist Robert Crumb. The museum is especially well known for its collection of Rodin sculptures; you can ruminate before a cast of “The Thinker.”
