The James Joyce feels like a cross between an Irish pub and a wild west saloon. There are wood floors and barrels of peanuts, dart boards and a pool table. The drinks are standard. The clientele is mixed: there are usually some grad students and professionals sitting at the tables and inebriated college kids dancing near the back. Unlike some other Santa Barbara bars this place is totally unpretentious.
