You can get lost in the Art Institute and not worry about finding your way out. In fact, it is a place in which you should loiter and linger as much as you can--do NOT rush through the Institute just so you can say "I've been there!" Manet, Monet, Rembrandt, Picasso, Van Gogh, Renoir--they're all there. The gift shop is good (if crowded, cramped, and fairly expensive), but it's worth a visit as well.
