Hosting thousands of travelers, backpackers and flash packers from around the world, Hostelling International Sukhumvit (HI-Sukhumvit 38), the up market hostel, is located in mid-town Bangkok. It is an ideal starting point to explore Bangkok?s attractions being well connected to the public transport system, providing easy access to Bangkok?s attractions, including the airport, bus terminals, train station and water taxi.

Just 2 minutes away is a convenience store, a post office and local shopping centre. For the food enthusiasts, restaurants, bars, and pubs are nearby, as is an Olympic size swimming pool.

After an exhausting day exploring Bangkok, you can chill out in our spacious communal area with hundreds of books and magazines, cable TV and refreshments, as well as using our guest kitchen. Our outdoor rooftop garden invites you to sit back, rejuvenate and contemplate your travel plan your next itinerary. It is a wonderful place to relax and meet other travelers from around the world, making new friends and exchanging travel trips.

*Due to the characteristic of our 4 storey building, this hostel has no elevator.

Getting to HI-Sukhumvit,Bangkok

From Suvarnabhumi International airport (New airport)

take local bus # 552 (Airport - Klong Toei) : take shuttle bus to Transport Center; then catch the bus # 552. costs thb 20.-

take Airport Express Bus (AE 3) : at the arrival terminal. The bus drives you directly to Sukhumvit Soi38. costs thb 150.-

Both bus 552 and AE3 drive you to Sukhumvit Soi 38. get off at Sukhumvit Soi 38 busstop by 7eleven,under the BTS,sky train, Thong Lo station.


Taxi : either make sure the taxi is on a meter ( to HI-Sukhumvit Soi 38 approx. thb 150 ? 200,depends on the traffic condition,plus airport surcharge 50) or agree on a price before you start your journey ( should not cost more than thb 350)

down to Sukhumvit Soi38 for 100 meters on left.

From Northern Bus Terminal (MO Chit2)

Public bus : Air-con bus 77 or 145 drives you to BTS (sky train) Mo Chit Station. Take either Sky train to Thong Lo Station ( E6) Exit #4 or bus 38 to Sukhumvit Soi 55 (Thong Lo bus stop);then across the street to Sukhumvit Soi 38. Down to the Sukhumvit Soi 38 for 100 meters. The hostel is on your left.

From Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai) and Khao Sarn Rd.

Public bus : Air-con bus 511 drives you to Sukhumvit Soi 55 (Thong Lo ) bus stop ; then across the street to Sukhumvit Soi 38. Down to the Sukhumvit Soi 38 for 100 meters. The hostel is on your left.

From Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekamai) : 5 ? 10 mins walk to HI-Sukhumvit

From Hua Lum Pong Railway Station

Public bus : Bus 25, 40 or air-con bus 501 directly takes you to Sukhumvit Soi 55; then across the street to Sukhumvit Soi 38. Down to the Sukhumvit Soi 38 for 100 meters. The hostel is on your left.

MRT and BTS: Take MRT (subway) to Sukhumvit Station then connect the BTS (sky train) for On Nut. Get off at Thong Lo station ( E6 ) Exit #4. to Sukhumvit Soi 38. Down to the Sukhumvit Soi 38 for 100 meters. The hostel is on your left.
