Our fantastic hostel is located two blocks from the beach and one block to State Street, famous for its nightlife, restaurants, gorgeous Spanish architecture and shopping.
Santa Barbara is an amazingly beautiful beach town on the California Central Coast, home to movie and music stars, surfers, students and fun-loving friendly people. The whale watching, sailing and scuba diving is the best on the West Coast.

Make sure you take a day-hike into the Santa Barbara back country; beautiful hiking trails lead to waterfalls, Indian cave paintings and natural hot springs; and the views out to the Channel Islands are stunning!

Santa Barbara Tourist Hostel is a fully equipped hostel only steps from the beach and State Street with great views of the surrounding palm trees and mountains. Other amenities include a laundry room, vending machines, internet kiosks, and information boards suggesting activities while visiting Santa Barbara. We also have bike and surfboard rentals, maps, guides and tour suggestions.

Our dorms are a hit with international backpackers. The views from the windows show off Santa Barbara perfectly.

Train: Directly across the tracks, toward the beach.

Bus: Walk 1 block to State St. then 8 blocks down or take the 25¢ Downtown Shuttle to train station at Yanonali St.

Driving from the South: Exit 101 at Cabrillo Blvd, go left and follow beachfront past State St., take the next right on Chapala St., and we are 2 blocks up on the right.

Driving from the North: Exit 101 at Garden St. and turn right, follow to the beach, turn right on Cabrillo Blvd, pass State St., and take the next right on Chapala St. Find us 2 blocks up on the right, at Yanonali St
