A heritage listed building - built in 1911 by Henry Pybus, Captain of the Canadian Pacific Steamship - "Empress of Japan" which took the "Blue Ribbon" while setting the Trans-Pacific crossing record - 1897. The library, post office, hockey arena, football stadium, convention center, law courts, art gallery, shopping, theaters and Gastown are all close by. The hotel is in a student area and there are a number of public and private colleges in the area.
Stanley Park and the beaches are within fourteen blocks.
All buses are two blocks away, the skytrain is 1/2 block, the bus depot/train station is 1.6 kilometers (a short ride on the skytrain), the seabus to North Vancouver is 5 blocks.
