Welcome to Toulouse and welcome to our hotel, ?Chez Tony,? just a 10 minute drive from Toulouse centre, Blagnac airport and the train station! Welcome to Toulouse and welcome to our Hotel Chez Tony, just a 10 minute drive by car from Toulouse centre, Blagnac airport and the train station. This British owned two star hotel offers excellent service and comfortable accommodation at very competitive rates.
Please note that we are not in the city centre of Toulouse itself and you will have to take some form of transport to reach us. Do not book our hotel expecting to be able to walk into town and then give us poor feedback with regard to location as we feel that this is unfair.
Adam and Sarah are leaving next weekend but Philippe the new owner will be carrying on as before. May we take the opportunity to thank everyone who has used the hotel and wish you all a pleasant future stay in Toulouse at Hotel Chez Tony.
There are 2 restaurants with bar next door serving three course traditional French meals from only 11,00 euros, and that includes wine! There is also another with an all you can eat buffet with wine dessert and cheese for 10 euros 5 minutes away. (Closed Saturday night and all day Sunday) We are only a 10 to 15 minute drive in the car from downtown Toulouse (or a 20 minute bus-ride) and are located near to a bus-stop.
All of our rooms are en suite, the majority with both bath and shower- just a couple have shower only. Single rooms all contain a double bed. Twin rooms contain one double bed and one single bed for two people sharing. Triple rooms contain one double bed and one single bed for three people sharing, although we can offer another single bed or z bed in room provided you let us know beforehand. We are a hotel and not a property therefore all our rooms are private and not shared with other parties! Should you wish to book a twin-bedded or triple room and we have no availability we should be happy to offer you two double rooms at a reduced price. Just make the booking and we'll sort out the discount on arrival. Any queries just mail us!
We are currently in the process of refurbishing all our rooms; however we cannot guarantee that you will stay in a completely refurbished room. Nevertheless we feel that we offer excellent value for money and hope that you will be pleased with your stay here.
Please note that we have a lady, Alice, who lives in at the hotel but she is unable to speak English. so if you do arrive late, without knowing your room number, please realize that you are in France and not everyone speaks English here, thankfully Sarah and I do.
Please indicate time of arrival, either indicating AM or PM or in 24 hour clock, in particular for weekend arrivals, as the reception is not manned all the time. Thank you.
Check is normally after 12pm. Check out is 11am. If the key to the room is not returned to us within a week we will have to charge 15 euros.
Please ask us for maps and information of Toulouse and we will do our best to arm you with information in order for you to enjoy your stay in 'La Vie en Rose - The pink city. Nearby is Lake Sesquieres, which is 15 minutes on foot from the hotel, for water skiing in the summer c 8euros as well as pleasant walks here, along with the canal du midi, and by the lake, there is also a very large disco as well that holds about 3000 people, so you can invite your friends.
Please indicate time of arrival, in particular for arrivals at the weekend and national holidays, as the reception is not manned all the time.
Thank you. Adam and Sarah.
By car: From Blagnac, Tarbes, Carcassonne follow ring road (Periferique) towards Bordeaux -come off at exit 33b.Coming from the A62 follow signs to Blagnac and take exit 33b.Follow signs to Les Minimes Parc DActivities de Fondeyre.
After the lights keep on the right hand lane towards Les Minimes, Douanes, Tri Paquets. At the roundabout turn left over the bridge and left again past entrance to Marché dIntérêt and La Poste. Turn on your next right.
Please note that we are not in the city centre of Toulouse itself and you will have to take some form of transport to reach us. Do not book at our hotel expecting to be able to walk into town and then give us poor feedback with regard to location as we feel that this is totally unjustified and unfair. The No 15 bus, going to FONDEYRE, runs every 20 minutes from Place Jeanne D'arc to the hotel, (marked Glaciere on the bus stop, which is right near the end of the line), and costs 1,40 euros. It runs from 06:20 a.m. until 20:00 p.m. Look to get off just after La Poste on RHS (Not to be confused with the first La Poste Office at Barriere de Paris, on your LHS just before the roundabout with traffic lights on it) and by a garage-Imagin Auto, with yellow and red flags. Turn left and then immediately right and you'll see the hotel facing you. You will see Glaciere on the sign in the bus to let you know it is the stop to get off. You can use the same ticket you purchased for the Metro, on the bus, provided it's within 1 1/4 hours of the time you bought your ticket.
Check www.tisseo.fr for the bus times, if you are unsure
Please note that unfortunately the 15 bus doesn't run on a sunday so you will have to take the metro to La Vache and then take the No 59 at the bus terminus to Glaciere, you will see an esso petrol station then a minute later, red and yellow flags near the bus stop. It is 3 minute ride to Glaciere. They are at 7am, 8am, 930am, 1055am,1230,1355,1455,1640,1800, and 1900 Dont forget it will be probably quicker to take the metro from Barriere de Paris to get into town. The first metro starts at about 05:20 from La Vache, till around 00:15 in midweek and around 01:00 friday and saturday from Jean Jaures.
For those arriving at the train station (Gare Matabiau) take one stop on Line A of the metro to Jean Jaures and then take line B to Barriere de Paris, walk to Ave Etats Unis you will see the Midas garage. The last bus leaves Jeanne D'arc at 20:00 so ensure you get to Barriere de Paris by 20:45 to take the last bus. After that time continue on the metro to La Vache and when you come up turn back towards the bus terminus to Rue Muratet and then you will see the Police Station on the right, by the lights. Go straight over passing a school on either side, to the next lights, you will see a peugeot garage in front of you. Go right and then go over the roundabout (citroen garage on the corner) and carry straight on past esso garage and then walk to the right of the underpass. Carry on till you get just pass La Poste, go right to impasse des etats unis and the hotel is 100 metres on the left. It is a good 15 minute walk.
If you have heavy luggage, ask for a carte de cabine at the railway station c.7euros. Then get on the Metro to La Vache and then ring 0561209000 or 0534250250 for a taxi to impasse des etats unis from there.
There is also another bus which is the N5 which runs from the railway station at 21:45/22:45/23:45 or just along from Place Jeanne D'arc on Boulevard de Strasbourg at 21:55/22:55/23:55 but that will only get you as far as Barriere de Paris. From there it is a 20 minute walk. From La Vache it is around 15 minutes. I suggest that you take the metro if you can. If not get as near to us as possible and then order a taxi as they are not cheap..
Taxis to and from the hotel to the centre of Toulouse are between 15 and 20 Euros but it is advisable to ask them before you take one. After 21:00 they are more expensive. Please give me feedback as to whether the directions were good or not, as otherwise I am unable to correct them.
Check a decent website like mappy.fr or viamichelin.com for details of maps.
The reception is unmanned, at certain times, over Saturday and Sunday. Please let us know your time of arrival at the hotel. As a last resort we can leave your key in your room. |
