Bronx
 
Now while we stayed in Manhattan most of the time, our last night in New York we stayed in the Bronx. It was closer to the airport and our plane was delayed due to bad weather. And it being June, all the other hotels nearby were booked. I can't speak for the area, but the hotel itself was much nicer and much more affordable, and the staff was friendlier than the pricey upper class place that we stayed at in Manhattan.
