Site Seeing
After the initial impressions we spent the next 3 days site seeing and shopping. We went up the Eiffel Tower at night and could see the entire city filled with the glowing lights. I should mention that I was less than impressed with the site of the giant hunk of metal during the day, however at night it was worth the trip up. When spending one day walking around town, we happened upon a cemetery. I couldn't tell you where at or how old it was, but the architecture was worth the trip there. Turns out, it was the cemetery where Jim Morrison (The Doors) is buried, complete with security guards.
We went on walking tours of a number of Chateaus. A few of the Chateau's we toured: Chateau de Chenonceau, Chambord, Chateau de Versailles. We went on a night boat ride, the Bateaux-Mouches, along the Seine River. We spent Easter Sunday in mass at the Notre Dame, and we spent a few hours in the Louvre. We saw L'Arc De Triomphe, La Pyramide du Louvre, and a number of other historic monuments.
