10 Days in Spain - July 18

Yay for tapas

So last night we tried to find that cave club, but alas as it was monday it was closed.  So we walked all the way back down the hill, enjoying great views of the Alhambra all lit up at night, and found a dive bar to have a drink at.  Then we went to Granada 10, this club that's a 1920'sstyle theatre during the day.  Jen and I were feeling abit tired and blah as we entered, then we saw the inside and were like "OMG this is awesome!"  They had big chandeliers in the cieling and gold couches and everything.  Very cool.  We got a drink from our very flirty bartender (who also gave us a whisky shot, Jen said it was the fastest she's ever gotten a free drink lol) and sat down.

There weren't many people there yet, but this one group of guys was out and dancing and Jen and I turned to each other and were like "They must be europeans, white american guys don't dance like that."  So we went up to talk to them and they turned out to be not only american, and not just Californian, but live about 20 minutes away from me.  We stayed dancing with that group for most of the night.  They were lots of fun.  I was dancing and talking someto this one guy from the group who seemed pretty cool, but the girl that was with them I think was getting kinda pissed at me, it looked like she was interested in him, so I told him that I was married so it wouldn't seem like I was leading himon or wasting his time.  They left not too long after that, and Jen and I stayed for another like half hour or something then decided to take off aswell (it was about 4am or something).  On the walk homewho do we encounter but my dancing buddy!  So the 3of us sat outside his hostel and talked for a bit.  I really wanted to ask for his email address to keep in touch (seemed like a fun person to go out with) but I didn't have anything to write with anyway.  Who knows, maybe I'll run into himagain back in cali.

So Jen and I finally got to bed around 6am, meaning that, aside from a30 minute nap in the afternoon, we'd been up for 24 hrs.  I love going out with Jen b/c she kinda gets me to go out and stay out even when I'm feeling tired and lazy, and I usually end up having a great timeout after I get over that hump.  I need peoplelike that out in cali, to get me and Zach to actually go out and go dancing rather than sit at home at night....

Today we woke up at 12:30pm and just had some lunch at an Arab cafe.  We're gonna do our last bit bout of shopping this afternoon.    BTW, I love tapas.  They are friggin awesome.  Last night for dinner we had to go early b/c the flamenco show (which was incredibly, btw) was at 10, so we had dinner at 7:30 which is considered way early here and we weren't that hungry yet.  Anyway, we went to a restaurant and had tapas and for 13€ (total) we had a great dinner that was enough to fill us up and leave us happy.  I love that you get to try a bucnh of different little things, and you can order as much or as little as you want.  Such a nice change from the usual American gigantor plates served at restaurants.
