European Fun - The Departure


The Departure 2006-07-18
 
    After a relatively brief flight down to LAX, we nearly missed boarding our flight to London. Its not that we wasted too much time in getting to the correct gate-we walked very quickly to get there without stopping, it was simply that our tickets didn't provide a reasonable amount of time for the layover. We heard our names over the airport intercom, and arrived in just the nick of time and boarded... only to discover that the Palmdale control tower lost electricity and that we could not take off. So we waited on the ground for 3 and half hours, effectively turning our 11 hour flight into a 15 hour one.
