The Long Road Home
3/15/7
It's a damn good thing we are both crazy to get back to California. We have one hell of a long trip ahead of us. It started this morning at around 8 am, packing the last of our things before taking the ferry from Phi Phi to Phuket (gotta love those names!). Getting off the ferry in Phi Phi we competed with the rest of the "cattle" for a quick shuttle to the airport. We made the airport by midday, and proceeded to wait until 4:30 for our next leg: the flight to Bangkok. Then we had a VERY long wait, 7 hours, until our flight to Seoul, South Korea. There, we will enjoy another 8 hour layover before boarding our last (!!!) flight, to SFO. That flight will take 10 hrs. So, the total for our return: 40 hours. Gadzooks. I wish I had some Airborne, because my immune system is gonna be shot. Lisa's fast asleep on a hard bench, while I am debating whether to sleep or try and stay up until evening, CA time. I doubt I can manage it. We'll have to upload the photos when we get back to CA. By the way, if anyone wants to pick us up at the airport, we'll be their best friend! (Seriously, we've rented a car, but it was highway robbery!). Next time we write we'll probably be in Santa Cruz, where we can describe just how sweet it is to be back home.
