Introduction
2005-12-31 to 2006-02-07
New Zealand, a veritable backpacker's paradise. My original plan was to participate in a two-week volunteer project with the University of California, Berkeley's Habitat for Humanity chapter in Invercargill, New Zealand's southernmost city, and then fly home to start the spring semester after a quick stop in Queenstown. Yet, my circumstances changed, and I didn't have to start school til much later. So, I decided to stay in New Zealand while everyone else in the group left for California. My three weeks backpacking around both the South and North Island were not nearly enough to experience the majestic beauty of this rugged country, but I wouldn't trade them for the world. I have to return.

Incredible photos! Never been to New Zealand. This journal's got plenty of good reasons.
