Auroville is a small town 6 km north of Pondicherry. The purpose of this beautiful town was to bring people together from all over the world to a common platform to achieve unity and peace. Auroville intends to become such a city that will serve as a model to the cities of the future, cities where people will strive towards a harmonious future. At any given time in the ashram, there are about 1,800 people from various religious and ethnic backgrounds from all over the world.
