San Juan
December 14, 2005
I arrived in San Jaun in the evening, greeted by my pseudo grand parents who brought me to a local market and bought some papayas, plantains, and parcha (passion fruit juice). San Juan was extremely congested, this may have been partially due to the fact that it was Christmas and everyone was out and about shopping. Puerto Rico holds 4 million plus visitors, San Juan being the most densely populated area on the island. The language is predominately Spanish, but most people can understand English. Beware of the Highways, they are very poorly marked and it is easy to lose your way if you do not know exactly where you are going. Though the US has a lot of influence and power over Puerto Rcio, it doesn't have the infrastructure.
