Introduction 2006-08-20 to 2006-08-20
 
During a recent trip to Macau with my wife we took a day long side trip to Hong Kong for shopping. We traveled fro Macau to Hong Kong (and returned) via the TurboJet Ferry service. It is an hour long journey costing approx $20 US per person each way. Once in Hong Kong we took a taxi (Taxi drivers in Hong Kong understand English for the most part) to the Stanley Market in the village of Stanley. Stanley has a fairly large shopping mall as well as a market square with many small merchants selling a variety of merchandise at very good prices. After perusing the Stanley mall and the market we cut our trip short due to a sudden heavy rain shower and returned to downtown Hong Kong having the taxi take us to one of Hong Kong's premier upscale malls, Pacific Place. Pacific Place is a very large upscale shopping mall featuring all of the name brands popular in Europe and North America. After having a late lunch we returned to Macau and our hotel there via the ferry. We plan a longer return trip to Hong Kong in October of this year with plans to visit Disneyland, Kowloon and more of Hong Kong's shopping Districts as well as a return to Stanley Market!
