My famiy is uniquely adventerous so we tend to push experiences to the max. My older brother Nick spent so much time above the Artic Circle, in a tiny village called Katsabue, that he was indoctrinated into their tribe. His Inuit name when translated means "flying sparrow"!
When I was 10 my family moved to Jakarta Indonesia, which is almost the exact opposite of Alaska. The 18 million people, high pollution, and year-round heat definitly took time to adjust to.
My Dad was raised in South East Asia in the 60's and 70'because a my gradfather was a Methodist missionary. He graduated highschool from the Singapore American School, which coincidentally is the arch rival of my team at the Jakarta International School.
My Mom was born in London, her family is fully English. They moved to NYC when she was 10 years old and have been in the US ever since. They've lived all over the country but most of her family now reside in Florida, which is where my Brother now lives with his wife and two sons.
True to our nature my family pushed every possible experience to the limit. I have been all over Asia and befriended the people many foreigners shield their eyes from.
Indonesia is a beautiful country with amazing spirit, most Indonesians manage to be extremely kind hearted while living in the most meager of circumstance.
I have not been back to Jakarta for 3 years although my parents continue to live there. I speak Bahasa Indonesia fluently and currently am studying International Business in San Francisco.
The beautiful lady in the picture is my girlfriend of 3 years, Ilaria. She went to highschool with me in Jakarta. She was born in Manilla and has lived in India, Japan, Seattle, Venice,The Netherlands, Jakarta, and her parents recently moved to Morrocco.
