Sometimes it is a physical journal, sometimes it is an emotional one. Usually it is something of both, and all variations of those aspects are important. In my life now, with commitments to jobs and housing, extended travelling is not very viable. I go back and forth. Sometimes I feel restless in this settled life of good jobs and a beautiful home, and feel quite ready to move on to the next thing - graduate school? great world travels? Then sometimes I love the solid place of grounding I have come to, from which I am able to reflect and create. I suppose for me, it always boils down to balance... It is simply a question of when to travel, and when to be home.
