His longevity proves that his award-winning food, stylishly hip Martini Bar, and Tokyo Style Sushi Bar can withstand any new trend. In 1997, Los Angeles Magazine voted Michi as one of the Top Ten New Restaurants, and in 2005 they voted Michi as one of the Top Ten Bars in all of Los Angeles. Michi placed Manhattan beach on the gourmet map back in 1997, and is still the one to aspire to in 2005.
