Australia's eastern most point is also one of the planet's most chilled-out, cruisy little beach communities. Located in the north of New South Wales, Byron Bay's bohemian authenticity attracts both vacationing Australians and tens of thousands of foreign visitors each year. A visualy stunning town, cradled in the sweeping concha of an enormous cape, the crystalline water is a host to migrating whales and all manner of sea life. Accommodations are plentiful ranging from: high end hotels, motels, B&B's, apartments to rented rooms, and cozy cottages. Stop by for a weekend or settle in for a season in a comfortable beach bungalow. Explore the cranking surf scene; post sea-sesh why not stroll around in the artsy downtown. Wander into some shops and check out a flick at the local cinema, or settle into a hammock or overstuffed bean bag and catch a picture at one of the backpacker hostels.
