Bobo Dioulasso is the regional capital of southwest Burkina Faso. It is a city that is pleasant to walk around in; shade trees line wide boulevards, children play along the unpaved lanes of the residential areas and there is an unhurried feel all around. The market district is well stocked and hosts an Internet cafe or two.

Bobo is a mix between urban and rural. It is the second largest city of Burkina Faso and a busy trading center, but it is also only steps away from the bush. The city is surrounded by an agricultural region known as the 'bread basket' for the entire country. The scenery in this area is stunning! You will be comfortable in Bobo if you decide to stay for a while: you can find roast pigeons for dinner on your nearest street corner and you can also call internationally if need be. You can meet a farmer or a doctor.
