A typical Shanghai tour takes 3 days (2 nights), which should cover Shanghai Museum, the Bund, Yu garden, etc. About 70% of COT travelers take our 2 nights/3 days tour program (as below), but some people do want to stay a few more days in this wonderful city. We also provide some optional tours and some extension tours for you to combine into your Shanghai tour.

 

2 Nights / 3 Days Tour Program in Shanghai


Day 1:
After your arrival at Shanghai, China's most cosmopolitan city, our local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel.The tour in the afternoon will bring you to the Bund and the Nanjing Road.


      The Bund
(the word "Bund” was derived from Anglo-Indian word meaning quay): where the great trading houses and banks had their headquarters in 1920s and 1930s, about a mile long, it is the city's fulcrum. 
      Nanjing Road: known as "China's No.1 Shopping Street”with a huge of merchandise on sale.

Day 2:
Today, your full-day excursion of incredible Shanghai will include: Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden, Yuyuan Market and the Jade Buddha Temple.


      Shanghai Museum
:
often ranked as China's best museum, it is the biggest museum in China with a fine collection of over 120,000 pieces of Chinese artifacts.

      Yu Garden: located in the Old Town of Shanghai and laid out in 1559 AD by a powerful Ming official, Yu Garden recreates a beautiful landscape of pagodas, pavilions, rockeries, fountains, ancient trees and precious flowers.

     Yuyuan Market: Outside the Yu Garden, a bustling market with different snacks and trinkets.

     Jade Buddha Temple: named after its exquisite milk-white jade Buddha brought from Burma in the 19th century by a Chinese monk, it is a spiritual oasis in the midst of a modern metropolis.

Day 3:
Free in the day until our local guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.


Optional Tours in Shanghai:


Shanghai is the biggest city in China. There are plenty of nice places to go besides the listed above. If you want to stay for a few more days in Shanghai, here are some optional programs:

     The Oriental Pearl TV Tower: standing opposite to the Bund in the Pudong area by the bank of Huangpu River, with 468-meter height, it is the highest TV Tower in Asia and the third   highest one in the world, where on the sightseeing - seeing floor, you can get a bird's-eye view of Shanghai
     Children's palace: a center for children to carry out their extracurricular activities. It arranges after-school education and recreation according to children's psychology and interest.
     Xujiahui Cathedral: built in 1906 AD in Qing Dynasty, the first church in China built based on Western architectural style and Shanghai's largest Catholic church in medieval Gothic style, it is 79 meters tall with the cross on the bell tower. In 1910 it was called ‘St.Ignatius Church' when the new main hall was completed.
     International Community Church: a brick-and-wood structure in contemporary Gothic style, the new building of it was completed in March, 1925 providing English service at that time for primarily Christian believers from US, it was changed to International Community Church during the anti-Japanese War when many Europeans and a few Chinese attended.
     Mu En Church: formally named Moore Church for Methodist. In 1931, new church was built. In 1936, a revolving neon-lit cross was constructed on the bell tower and has become a sight ever since.

For individual travelers, we sometimes leave half day or one day free time on your own arrangement if you like. You may have more time to look into the city and the local people's life.
