This bar, perched on the very top of Helsinki’s Sokos Hotel Torni is the best spot to view Helsinki from above. On a clear day, you can see Estonia! Enjoy a beer or cider and catch your breath from the spiral staircase you have to ascend to get to the top. Also, check out the best bathrooms in Europe (a floor down from the bar, the women’s bathroom has a northerly view of the city).
 
Pancake Bakery
Choose from a huge variety of panckakes (Dutch pancakes tend to be more like crepes) with almost any filling/topping you can imagine. From sweet to spicy, they have it all.
 
Soul Kitchen
For something a bit more chill, try out this restaurant… they have American and Finnish soul food (you know, greasy home-cooking). They also have a large selection of whiskeys and urban electro music for your meal enjoyment. It’s a bit far from the center, in the neighborhood of Kallio. But if you are already in the neighbourhood, I would recommend a visit.
 
MBar
Right in the center of town inside the old lasipalatsi (glass palace) building is Mbar, a chill spot for drinking a coffee or beer, listening to some tunes and even checking your email. At night, they set up decks and have local djs play funk or electro music. In the summer, they have a terrace in the plaza outside so that people can enjoy the sun with their beer!
