| Despite being at latitudes further north than the U.S.-Canada border, Germany has a pretty moderate climate. In the northern and coastal areas the climate is moderated by the ocean. Winters are mild and summers are warm. Further inland there are wider ranges in daily and seasonal highs and lows. But the country is still pretty small compared to the U.S.; the weather doesn't vary that much. In the summers highs are between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit and it can get cold in the winter with lows dipping below freezing. If you're traveling in the winter prepare for snow but not necessarily for arctic temperatures. If you're coming in the summer bring layers. |

Germans speak German but there are lots of regional dialects which foreignes might find difficult to understand. There are also a lot of Turks in Germany; travelers will likely hear that language too besides many other languages (especially in larger cities).
