"Mombasa, say it again, Mombasa", like Simba's dad, has a lot to be proud of. Kenya's former capital, and the countries second biggest city, Mombasa is a bustling, loud, port city on the Indian Ocean. While no longer the political center, Mombasa retains many important administrative postings. Just as Nairobi is the launchpad for landbased safari tours, so to is Mombasa the staging ground for coastal excursions. The city is a hub of activity, of nightclubs and hotels, restaurants and bars. Accomodations cover the gamut from budget to deluxe, and the city offers an excellent portal to the many tropical beach resorts stretching southward.

Mombasa is the second largest city in
Kenya
. It is located in the coastal province. As the name suggests, next to the coast.
Yes, Mombasa is truly beautiful and one of the worlds most visited tourist destination. During winter, many toursists from Europe and other Western countries flock at the sunny beaches and engage in all manner of watersports. I was there in December and the sites were something to behold.
