Introduction to Tiwi Beach Edit Section - Tiwi Beach Travel Guide

Around an hour south of the bustling port city of Mombasa, Tiwi is a gorgeous little beach community on the Indian Ocean. Endless stretches of white sand beaches stretch into the horizon, coconut bearing palm trees providing shade and anchor for the abundance of swaying hammocks. Accommodations range from uber deluxe- like the private resort Brad and Angelina first escaped off to in their early courtship, to budget, backpacker friendly beach huts. Restaurants are overflowing with fresh catches of sea food, an inviting treat from the ocean's sparkling pure, clear waters. Warm powdery sand and pleasantly cooling waves provide a backdrop for beach walking vendors, selling fresh juices, hand carved soap stone sculptures, or colorful wraps. Build up an appetite and head to the world's only coral cave restaurant. Head under ground into this formerly submerged cave, dine under the stars, and the twinkling lights hidden in the naturally formed crooks and crannies. Get a cocktail from the fully stocked bar, nestled like a pirate perch into the cave's corner. The food is exquisite, and the prices, while substantial for Kenya, are quite a bargain for Western tourists.

TIWI Beach Resort has a privately-owned beach on Kenya’s south coast. The rooms and other amenities are something to write home about.   It has a serene environment and is a very ideal place for rest and relaxation.  The prices are very reasonable compared to the service and facilities.  For more on Kenya safaris, visit Kenya online.
