Introduction to Pangkor Island Edit Section - Pangkor Island Travel Guide - Hotels & Restaurants

If you visit state of Perak in Malaysia, don't forget to visit this wonderful beautiful Pangkor Island. Pangkor got its name from Thailand word, Pang Ko which mean beautiful. The nearest town from Pangkor is Lumut which located in mainland. Visiting Pangkor is so great and unique - charming mix of smiley villagers and beautiful scenes. Well, if you got a low travel budget, instead of booking the resorts here you can have a what-so-called as homestay with friendly villagers here.
Similar to several other exotic islands in Malaysia, several popular activities here are sunbathing, snorkeling, jet skiing and windsurfing. Popular snorkeling spots here are Pantai Pasir Bogak and Pangkor Laut (note: pantai mean beach) - and not to forget Sembilan Island (note: sembilan mean nine). If you decided to have on-land activities, perhaps you can have a try of bird watching around Teluk Nipah.

Getting to Pangkor Island
There are two ways, either by boat or ferry as well as by private flight. Go to town of Lumut, and have a take-off boat/ferry ride there to the island. Also if you decided to reach by flight, there is a private flight from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (in Selangor) to Pangkor.
