Introduction to M'dina

The medieval city of M'dina, once the capital, is one of Europe’s finest examples of an ancient walled city. Its history traces back more than 4000 years, and it is where many believe St. Paul lived in 60 A.D. after a shipwreck landed him on the island. Impressive palaces of noble families line the narrow streets, some of them built as far back as the 12th Century; they are especially beautiful at night when the entire city is lamplit.
