Because Malta is such a small island, cities have grown into each other; there is no way of knowing when one city ends and another starts if you don’t look at the sign or ask around. Sliema has developed from being a resort for the rich to the center of shopping, dining and cafeing it is today. The seaside promenade is great for walking or running and has also become a central meeting spot. The promenade spans the coastline from Gzira to St. Julians, the center of nightlife on the island.
