Introduction to Tankah Edit Section - Tankah Travel Guide - Hotels & Restaurants

Tankah was once an important Mayan ceremonial center.  It is now home to several boutique hotels (none of them are bargains), an excellent (if kind of pricey) seafood restaurant, and happily sun-burnt tourists.  It has such beautiful beaches that the Corona company has filmed several of their "Escape to Paradise" commercials in the area. But, perhaps the most beautiful thing is that it is still relatively quiet -- nothing like nearby Cancun or even Playa del Carmen.

Take a look at this map.  While it's outdated (Tankah Inn, for example, is now Maya Jardin), it gives you a good idea of the beauty of the place.
