If you only have one day in Christchurch: Catch the Tram around the central city to see the sights, get off at the Art Center for coffee and shopping. Walk up Worchester Street to Cathedral Square and pick some lunch at one of the stalls or surrounding cafes. Find a seat on the Cathedral steps and be entertained by street performers or speakers on their soapbox. Climb the stairs of the Cathedral for a birdeye view of Christchurch. Then walk back down Worchester Street to the Canterbury Museum and Botanic Gardens. Have afternoon tea at the Kiosk in the Gardens. Spend the evening at one of the many restaurants on Oxford Terrace. |
