Goggles, check. Flippers, check. Passport, check. I.D, che...Wait a second, it's Mallorca! Thank God Mallorca is not as close to the United States as Cancun. Mallorca, like Cancun is a popular (European) party destination, a place of throbbing club beats, wet lunches, and late nights. Unlike Cancun however, some people in Mallorca still speak Spanish...that and there's no Senor Frogs. Forget your margaritas, this is sangria territory- and the largest of the Balearic islands. Like it's little party-girl sister Ibiza, Mallorca is not famous for its temperance. The Brits and the Germans have been storming the Balearic beaches of Mallorca since the early 1950's, giving the island a few years to perfect its mass packaged tourism on even old hand, Disneyland. The capital city Palma, has, like you might expect, the same excessive aesthetic of any 'fun-in-the-sun' packaged hackneyed travel locale. Mallorca isn't for everyone, but if you liked Ios in Greece or Cancun in...well, you know where Cancun is...If you liked those boozy beaches you'll love Mallorca!
