The night markets on Silom Road and in Chinatown are delightful ways to fritter away the warm humid evenings of Bangkok.  You might want to take in a Muay Thai (Thai boxing) fight – ask your concierge or a TAT-authorized travel agent for details about upcoming bouts.

Bangkok also has a number of festivals throughout the year – again, check with tourist information or your concierge for more details.

Bar hopping is a popular activity in Bangkok.  The drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is almost always light and fun.  Khao San has a number of drinking establishments that also double as restaurants or clubs.

Patpong is the most notorious nightlife district in Bangkok, and offers a bit of everything.  There are regular bars.  There are also beer bars – outdoor stalls with an attractive female staff that’s available for the night – if she approves of you and you pay a “bar fine” for taking her away from work early.  Go-go bars are another carnal attraction – here you can see everything from a traditional strip show to live sex and other unspeakable feats.

Massage parlors come in many forms – there are regular ones which offer Thai, oil, and foot massages, amongst other flavors.  A vigorous (non-sexual) Thai massage after a tiring day is a wonderful luxury, and an hour is as cheap as 150 baht. More "involved" massages are also available, as advertising will inevitably alert you.
