| Seafood, and lots of it. Sure, you’ll find all the standard Thai and international fare as well, but nothing exceptional. The catch of the day, however – which will always have been caught that day – is worth a few extra baht to enjoy. Nicer restaurants will be found in the north, while cheap eats line the beach road and walking street (although beware on the walking street proper – there are a few tourist traps priced well above their quality, usually to entrap newbies). If you’d prefer a more authentic dining experience, go to the center of the beach and head inwards five or ten blocks, you’ll find a nice outdoor place devoid of tourists in no time (local Westerners, of which there are many, is a different story).
