In the wake of the Dec 2004 Tsunami that effect the western side of the country, a lot of development has come to Koh Chang, which is both good and bad. I stayed at Treehouse, which was good and bad. | Koh Phanghan is a curious island – during most of the month, it’s mild-mannered, not too crowded, and very cheap. All the watersports available on other islands are here as well – but there is no rushing about to participate. If you want to, fine – but plenty of people spend their time lounging on the large white sand beaches, wading out to the reefs with snorkel goggles, or enjoy a sunset... |  |
| Phi Phi was an undiscovered paradise years ago. Now it can be expensive and crowded at peak times (the main town, Ton Sai especially) but there are some beautiful and varied coastlines with white sands and plenty of coral for snorkelling or scuba diving. |  |
