The United Kingdom is a country composed of the constituent countries of England, Scotland and Wales on the island of Great Britain, and Northern Ireland on the island of Ireland. It can be confusing.

London, on the southern end of Great Britain, is one of the world's great metropolises. Among its iconic landmarks are Westminster Palace, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace. The city is also famously associated with rain, and double-decker buses and fish and chips (in reality, good Indian curries are as easy to find in London as fish and chips). Outisde of the cities the UK has a rugged natural beauty, from the hills of the English countryside to the fairy-tale landscape of Scotland.

Along with the English language, which has become the global tongue, the UK has been home to great creative minds. From William Shakespeare to Tolkien and J.K. Rowling, from the Beatles to Radiohead and Aphex Twin, this comparatively small country always manages to come up with groundbreaking creative output. The art and music scenes in London still flourish (although the former can be a little uppity).

The places that i have been too in the UK are Bath, Cheddar Gorge, Liverpool, Bristol, Wales, Lancashire, North east, and Yorkshire
In Bath there is Sally Lunn's house the roman baths the river side all to visit and much more.
Cheddar is just a marvel of beauty and of course have a real Cornish ice cream.
Liverpool is just great plenty to see and do for all the family of every age.
Bristol is also great to explore.
Wales has got some wonderful scenery.
Lancashire has Blackpool which i love as it's where my grandparents took me every year until i was six.  Also Morecombe a fine market, Fleetwood is a wonferful little place you can get a boat out to the Isle of Wight if you desire.
The Northeast is just a gem i love it, in fact words can not describe it you really have got to see for yourself, the bridges during the day and night, travelling the metro i can not keep off, just great, but you have to go to all the places in the Northeast you cannot go to one and leave the others behind, they are all so brilliant.
And finally my birth place Wakefield is called the merrie city it has a wondeerful Cathedral and a beautiful little chapel that sits on the bridge over the river calder, and home to jane mcdonald also home to wakefield trinity, plus plenty more things too long to write about.  Leeds is a good shopping place, so is Bradford, Barnsley, Sheffield, Pontefract, Howarth is home to the Brontes Keighley is home to the Railway Children as it was filmed there, as of course i have to mention York just grand with the minster, lovely walks, and the railway museum a must see.
