Introduction to Alabama Edit Section - Alabama Travel Guide - Hotels & Restaurants

Alabama is home to lush temperate forests and waterways in the north and hot, sparkling white sand beaches along the Gulf Coast in the south (complete with huge waves just slightly cooler than bathwater, multi-colored jellyfish, and hordes of sandcrabs and sand dollars). In addition to warm-weather agriculture and sleepy farm towns scattered throughout the state, Alabama also has some interesting attractions, such as the NASA U.S Rocket and Space Center in Huntsville, where you can see such man-made wonders as an Apollo spacecraft and a Saturn V rocket. A lot of history lives on here, too, in museum preservations of the Civil Rights Movement and of jazz greats with ties to Alabama, for instance, and out of the twenty Alabama state parks, visitors are sure to find a way to enjoy their favorite outdoor pasttime.
