| Bekeley is a little too small for real neighborhoods but there are some notable variations. Travelers will want to stick to the areas near campus; as you get further east the territory gets very residential. Bustling Telegraph Avenue is where the 60's live on. Along with the many street vendors there are some great shops and good food. To the east of campus there are some beautiful houses and views of the Bay in the Berkeley Hills.

| North of campus, on Shattuck between Vine and Hearst is the "gourmet ghetto," Berkeley's little neighborhood of fancy eats. This is where you'll find Chez Panisse, the very first Peet's Coffee, and The Cheeseboard, Berkeley's beloved gourmet pizza collective. |
