| Davis lies at the intersection of Interstate 80 and 113. It's about 13 miles west of downtown Sacramento and 65 miles east of San Francisco. To get downtown, take the Richard's Blvd exit from 80. There's also an Amtrak station in town that'll take you to and from the Bay Area. |
Davis is really easy to navigate and parking is rarely a problem. If you have a car, you're set. But to get into the spirit of things rent a bike (when in Rome...). Davis is small enough that you'll be able to get around without much of a workout, and the UC Davis Arboretum has some great bike paths. |
Davis uses the 530 area code, and the town is sometimes affectionately (and ironically) referred to as the "dirty five-thirty." |
The Davis Enterprise is the town's local paper. Check out Bob Dunning's column for a taste of what local politics and civic life are like in Davis. |
