| | While catching some shade in Death Valley, at the Stovepipe Wells hotel or at Furnace Creek, you may look up and see approaching what looks like a concept vehicle from a new Star Wars movie. No you're not hallucinating...well, you may be hallucinating, but the car is real. Death Valley's extreme weather makes it the best place to test out cars that are two or three years away from production.... |
| The Devil's Golf Course is this huge expanse of weird gnarled salt deposits from an evaporated lake. They just cover the landscape (moonscape?), sticking up about 6" out of the ground. If you had to play golf here it would be a devil of a game. Worth seeing for the surreality of it all (but what in Death Valley isn't surreal). |
