J. Paul Getty Center. This museum designed by acclaimed architect Richard Meier sits on green bluffs on the city’s west side and draws both tourists and locals with its unique and austere environment. Zankou Chicken. Zankou serves up incredibly juicy and flavorful Armenian chicken wraps with a special garlic sauce for $5. Justin Timberlake was recently spotted stopping by for a bite. Golden Gopher. This Downtown bar, buried below the skyscrapers, has an incredible jukebox and a smart, friendly crowd.

History buffs will enjoy a trip to the Queen Mary. This majestic ocean liner and WWII troopship now sits docked in Long Beach where visitors can get a tour of the living quarters and machine room. As if historical significance weren’t enough, there is also a Ghosts and Legends tour that leads guests on a paranormal sight seeing trip through the supposedly haunted sections of the ship. Floating peacefully alongside the Queen Mary is a Cold War-era Russian submarine. The “Scorpion” is also open for claustrophobic, labyrinthine tours. (At the end of the 710 Freeway in Long Beach.
