Mill Valley is about 10 minutes north of San Francisco, over the Golden Gate Bridge. It's a mellow community, surrounded by beautiful scenery, including Muir Woods National Monument and Mount Tamalpais State Park. These two outdoors sanctuaries are perfect for a day hike while staying in San Francisco and there are plenty of places in Mill Valley to get food before or after a trek through the woods or along the coast.
